Jewelry Commissions

These work a little bit differently than my art commissions. Since they require a large amount of usually non returnable supplies to complete, I require a non refundable materials fee. I need to be compensated for the items I buy to complete your piece, whether you decide to go through with the commission or not, as I will not be able to return these materials. Please be aware of this ahead of time and don't give me the materials fee unless you are 100% certain that you will be going through with the commission and will be able to pay for the finished product.

I will take sketches from you, or draw sketches based on your descriptions until you are satisfied with the design of what you will be getting. Please be aware that I may have to decline a commission based on the fact that I don't think I can complete an exceptionally complicated design to the standards you and I would both expect out of a piece. If you are contacting me about a variation on a piece I already have up on the website, let me know what piece it is.

Please be very open and descriptive of the color needs of the project you are contacting me about. If it doesn't have any specific color requirements, or has only vague color requirements (i.e. “it really doesn't matter what exact color it turns out, but I really like reds and purples” or “I want it to be in the green family, but it doesn't really matter what kind of green”) then tell me that. If it has very specific color requirements, or needs to be made to match something, be very descriptive and, if possible, send a picture to aide in color choices.

Lastly, if you have certain materials you'd like to see it made out of (i.e. glass, semi-precious stones, etc) please let me know. The materials you choose will effect the non refundable materials fee. If you aren't sure what materials will cost, please let me know what price range you're looking for and I'll let you know what materials will fit into your budget. Also I will let you know if your proposed design will fit into this budget as well.

In summary, when contacting me, you should include in your email the following (as described above):

•  a description of, link to, or attached picture/sketch of your proposed design or which piece you are interested in a variation of

•  A thorough description or example of the color scheme you are expecting

•  Materials you are interested in

•  Price range you are looking for

•  Any other information you think is important, such as a date you will need the piece by if it is time sensitive

After receiving your email I will review your proposal and get back to you. I may have further info for you about your materials, design, time frame, or budget. Some of these things may need to be altered to turn this into a project I am capable of completing. If such changes are not possible, if I have other time constraints, or if I think that I am not the best person for you to be working with for this project I will, unfortunately, have to decline your commission.

If I accept, and once we have decided on a design, color scheme, time frame, and total cost I will let you know what the materials fee will be. The total cost is made up of the materials fee, estimated hours I will spend on the project (I won't ever charge you more if I go over those estimated hours), and shipping.

As I stated at the beginning, I require the materials fee to be in my hands before I start work. This fee is non refundable, so please be very sure that you are satisfied with prices and what we have agreed on before you send this. I accept all my transactions through PayPal, and will unfortunately not accept any other form of payment at this time. Please keep in mind that you can pay to a PayPal account with any major credit card (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, etc), so please don't let the method of payment be a deterring factor.

Once the product is completed, I will expect payment in full before I ship, as your completed payment is what will cover your shipping costs. After payment is received I will ship your product. I ship via USPS Priority Mail, usually in padded envelopes. If you request insurance I will gladly add that to your shipping costs and buy insurance for your package when I ship it. The same goes for Certified Mail. I highly recommend paying for these services as I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit. I know this seems harsh, but I am not the post office, and the fact that they are sometimes unreliable and rough with items is not my fault. I pack things well and label them clearly and know how hard it is to deal with things that have been lost by the post office.

If you have any questions about my guidelines, or need anything clarified, please email me. I'm more than willing to help you understand the process and be satisfied with your experience!
